Jain Temple

The Jain temple which was built in 1963 with its entrance on the Langoni Road, is extremely clean, decorated in dozens of pastel shades and is scented within. It propagates Jainism, the Indian religion contemporary with Buddhism and which holds all life to be sacred. It aspires to release adherents from the physical universe and its eternal cycle of death and rebirth. It advocates a life of rigorous discipline.

Before entering the temple, you need to remove your shoes and anything made of leather, and women during their monthly period, are requested not to enter. The temple interior is exquisite and simply takes your breath away.

You'll find peace, a calm atmosphere and astonishing ornamental design - painted figurines of Jain deities live in individual cubbies along the walls and religious scenes are depicted on the ceiling. From floor to ceiling, it is adorned with sculptures and figurines of Jain deities.
